My one year old is smart, he is funny and he opens the floodgates of love I didn’t even know I have.
He loves to eat. I swear he eats like a teenager. He will gladly scarf a whole plate of chicken, brocolli and rice before he would touch a can of baby food. He loves fruit. He says “more” when someone is eating something and he wants it. He loves drinking from his straw cup, he thinks he’s a big kid when he drinks from mine.
He loves balls. Baseballs, basketballs, bouncy ones, hard ones. He likes to play with my birth ball, and likes to sit on my lap while I bounce him.
He is super funny. He has a great sense of humor, his comedic timing is excellent and we crack up with him all the time. Daddy makes him laugh a lot, because Daddy does the silliest things and will continue to do them while Matthew is still laughing.
He loves music, and gets really happy when I sing to him. He really likes the Spanish song “Pon, Pon, Pon” and knows the hand motions. Sometimes, he does the hand motion just to get me to sing it.
He loves when we read the Spanish animal book, and I make all the animal noises. He especially likes the dog and the bee. Bzzzzz!
He walks about 5-10 steps at a time now, but he still prefers to crawl. He is very curious and gets into everything, but he is learning what “no” means and he’s learning to obey.
He is an idependent little guy, playing on his own just fine. He also loves going to the nursery at church and doesn’t miss us at all! But when he loves, he loves hard! He is so affectionate and so sweet when he snuggles. His kisses are rough and slimy, but oh so sweet.
He can say mama and dada. Sometimes he says “more” and he’s been trying to say “ball” and another word that I cannot figure what it means, but I think it means “song”.
He’s a great sleeper, just like his daddy. He goes down for bed every night without a fuss and sleeps the whole night through. He’s still taking two long naps every day and for that I am grateful.
I love being his mama and I am so excited to see who this little boy will become. Happy First Birthday my Little Rooster Roo. Mama loves you.
