I'm not going to write tutorials for these gifts - mostly because I didn't take step by step pictures, but also because I'm a "wing it" kind of crafter and I get a lot of inspiration by just looking at photos of other people's stuff.
If you have specific questions, feel free to ask them in the comments section and I will respond.
Here are a few photos of a gift I gave recently:
I covered an old formula can with scrapbook paper and then put three homemade headbands on it.
These are terrycloth and flannel burp cloths I made - super easy and quick, I hardly even measure. I added a taggie for decoration, but also because babies like them.
I stuffed the burp cloths into the can.
This is a wipes case (bought a Sesame Street one at Big Lots for $2) that I covered in fabric. I used hot glue to secure it. I then put a coordinating ribbon around the edges and made a velcro clasp as the closure. It wasn't my original intent but this craft was more difficult than I had bargained for. Once I got the fabric and ribbon glued on, my case would not stay closed. My husband told me that I had covered the little plastic pieces that make it click. Arg! So I put on a tie. Then my husband (he's the brains of the operation) told me that tying it is too hard, you usually want to do it with one hand and quickly. So, I made a velcro closure (which he approved of) by taking a scrap fabric, sewing the velcro on one side (gluing the coordinating velcro right to the bottom of the case) and then gluing the top of the strap on the top of the case. It didn't look "done" to me, so I added the big ribbon. I'm not sure that she'll actually use this case, but hey it's cute! And if anything you can always put it in the "baby sitter" bag (I have one for the nursery at church) or leave it in the car for emergencies!

I also threw it a little Earth Mama Angel Baby Herbal Bath salts for after - because really, who doesn't enjoy a healing bath after all that? Mama needs some lovin' too!
